Parodontology & Periodontics

The purpose of periodontology is to treat and prevent inflammatory and non-inflammatory disease of the surrounding tissues of the teeth (Gums), bone and etc. Gingivitis (gum inflammation), Periodontitis (inflammatory disease that destroys the bone tissue around the teeth), Gum Recession (process through which the gum tissue wears away, revealing the tooth root), and Periimplantitis (inflammation of the root of the tooth) are all examples of periodontal disease (inflammation of the tissue that surrounds the implant).
